The article in the newspaper did say, though, that photographs were taken. Not sure what that's all about. Photos of the kids drinking? Who took the photos? Cops or kids just goofing around with their cellphones? Oh, here on the news website it says that the cops took the photos, I guess of bottles or whatever. There were only 21 kids at the party so it shouldn't be too hard to narrow things down.

Interesting too that the police are reassuring the residents of Neptune Beach that there's not some crazed rapist on the loose at the beach. They know its someone from the party. Then again, if you know Mom and Dad can always dial up Hank Coxe to help you out in a jam you would feel pretty safe from prosecution.

regardless of where the kids are from, this is terrible police work, charge everyone involved and start them talking, they'd get to the right ones real quick

I completely agree, apvbguy, but can you charge people without talking to them? I'd think they could subpoena the host for a guest list and insist that those kids are brought in one by one, with a lawyer or not, under threat of being subpoenad as well. I just hope that the victim's parents are relentless. They're up against a machine now.

if you can place them at that house you can charge them, in my NY days it was said that a good da could secure an indictment on a ham sandwich, locking up a bunch of moronic kids really shouldn't be a challange, a day or 2 in a holding cell would loosen a lot of lips

Teenagers do stupid, moronic things also known as youthful indiscretions. Been that way for centuries. Prosecutors will go after the adult or adults that purchased and provided the alcohol to the underaged revelers. This is were the real crime is.

Somehow I knew that Anti-Bolles crowd would be quick to jump on this unfortunate chain of events. First let me say if the allegations are true I certainly hope the person or persons responsible pay the consequences
I do not think this was a school function so I can’t understand the “Trainer has a team of lawyers to handle this.” The school believe it or not has no divine control over what happens to students after they graduate or go to a off campus party.
APVBGUY I know you are not one of the aforementioned group but I am kind of surprised at your thoughts on the parents circling the wagon. Given the climate today and incidents like the Duke Gang Rape Debacle, any caring moderately intelligent parent would have grave concerns about having their child being questioned without council.
I have been a law enforcement officer for more than thirty years and stand solidly on that side. The Chief of Police at Neptune Beach is a former Jacksonville Police Officer and highly competent. I am certain that he is using due caution to see that all constitutional rights are adhered and not to taint the case if in fact there is one. Court orders for forensic evidence should bring a little more light on the subject. The real world unfortunately is not like CSI.
I'm sure that if evidence existed the hosting parent would have been charged under the open house party statute or contributing to the delinquency of a minor statute
Note should be taken that the past several publicized rape cases of this type (search jacksonville. com archives) were admittedly made up to cover the girl being out late drinking and not where she was supposed to be. (I’m not sure why a 15 year old female would be allowed out at this hour anyway. Were her parents upstairs too?)
RTT I am sure you can’t possible agree with the related media coverage on Channel 4 due to their video of the school and statement that “Bolles is known worldwide as one of the finest prep schools in the county.” (Normally we get very little news coverage on anything because “it’s great school to hate”)

Kwilli, you're not suggesting that she made up being assaulted, are you? Didn't the news say that she had been, confirmed by Shands? and yes, I'm sure that Bolles is one of the finest prep schools in the COUNTY, no doubt. In the COUNTRY Bolles would have to compete with the likes of St. Paul's, Groton, Exeter and that would be a different story.

Of course I could see why you'd want to hire an attorney if your kid had been called in for questioning, but the fact that they're NOT going in is what is so disturbing. That's what the circling the wagons is referring to. ("we'd better protect our own")

I'm sorry Channel 4 said "country" I was having font problems on this thread.
There was sexual activity evidence in the DUKE RAPE if you remember!
Prosecuter disbarred ring a bell?
I Having investigated many of these type of cases can tell you it is suprising how many times stories were made up for one reason or the other.
How many girls are sexually active at 15 today? Consenual today but not in the morning?
Let just wait and get the facts before we execute the school! I understand there were some public school kids at the party too, so it has to be totally innocent.
RESEARCH past several PUBLICIZED CASES and compare statistics.
