We found that the happiest Bolles parents were usually the most clueless.

please elaborate, exactly what were the issues that bothered you? were they academic or social issues?

Academics are quite good although the curriculum is heavily based on rote memorisation. (unlike, say, a public school's IB program) The culture is what many ex-Bolles parents had difficulty with. The administration needs to be revamped. An educational consultant is seriously needed, not for the academics but to take a look at the way situations with the kids (and errant faculty) are mishandled. Bolles will look out for Bolles at ALL costs, regardless of the consequences to the students. (which would be the primary focus in a well run school) They market the school like a brand so people (especially unsuspecting newcomers) buy into it. All I can say is, "Buyer Beware!".

that really doesn't say too much, other than you were an unhappy camper.
is the level of education not up to par? are the teachers abusive to the children? please tell!

I can't be specific unless I want to compromise my anonymity. I've repeatedly said that the academics were fine on this thread. Over the years things happenned there which made us completely lose faith in the management of the school . Scandals are quickly swept under the rug. We lost any shred of respect that we had for the administration. Its a very twisted place. Maybe the other poster can be more specific. (the one who gets chest pains when he thinks of Bolles)

I don't know anyone there so if you generalize I think you'd be covered

I don't want to go into specifics either because I still have one son there. I'm in the process of transferring him next year. I found the administration at Bolles to be completely corrupt, insensitive, cold and calculating. They ruined us in the community.
