Sorry to hijack your post, but I am wondering the same thing. I am looking into moving to Jax Beach/Atlantic Beach area from Texas. I have been in the area before, and would like a duplex/4-plex type of apartment, not a complex-type. If anyone can give price ranges, I would appreciate it.

Default AT the beach or NEAR the beach can make a big diff $$$

JPSchaff & LaneNTxs,

I'll just add that there can be a big difference in price between living at the beach or hopping over the intracoastal and still being near the beach.

You should find plenty of rentals at the beaches (Atlantic, Jax, Neptune), but the nice ones will be pricey and the cheaper ones can be really run down.

If you exhaust your options of affordable housing at the beach, you can always consider living 10-15 minutes in from the beach where there are plenty of affordable apartment choices (but you do lose that "beachy feeling"). If you go this route, you'd be looking at Intracoastal West/Southside area (Beach and Atlantic Blvds @ San Pablo, Hodges, Kernan & St. Johns Bluff roads...these intersections will help you zero in on the area I'm talking about).

Good luck with you hunt!
