I am planning a bachelorette party for a friend and was wondering if there are some good places to get drinks and dance in St. Augustine? If not we were thinking of going to Jacksonville. We are looking for something a little more upscale, not a bar with peanut shells on the floor. Any help would be appreciated!

St Augustine is pretty laid back. We are more of a beachy sandals kind of place, with a lot of jimmy buffet style music. If you are looking for that, there are a lot of choices.

not sure if cafe cortessie has dancing...they must because they have bands but that is pretty nice. maybe check out san sebastian winery. I'm not sure what kind of music you are looking for. There aren't really any good dance clubs w/ techno or hip hop. At least not that I know of...

Edit to add: check out Club Fusion. I've never been there, but it might work for you.

Thanks! We ended up going to JAX and hitting up a few places there but on Friday night we found out that Scarlet O'Hara's is pretty lively with some dancing and stuff.

Go to Bourbon Street Station on the Southside of Jacksonville. It is a converted home improvement warehouse into 5 different style bars under one big roof. Once you are in you are into all of them. It is really cool. With UNF right down the street there are lots of college kids.

... and a few yards down from Scarlet O'Hara's is Sangrias. Not quite as wild as O'Hara's but Sangrias is jumping every night with all types of live music.
