Trying to find something around the southside/mandarin area that's open late, preferably 24 hours a day. Indoor or outdoor (if well lit) is fine. Does anyone know of anything around here?

Thanks

i know of nothing.

The only 2 public courts that are lit at night that I know of are Willowbranch in Riverside and one near Townsend Rd on the SS.

Crabtree Park in Lakewood is open late (possibly even 24 hours) and it is lit. It's a straight drive up San Jose Blvd from Mandarin:

There is also Huffman Blvd Park over near the Saint John's Town Center and FCCJ. It is a new park and it has security (Crabtree has the police - the substation is nearby):

Wow, good info Riv. I too looked on the COJ site but gave up too easily I guess.

Back when I was in Jax I didn't look for games to join...when I played I played with friends in DeerCreek or Hampton Glen. I know that in Hampton Glen there were several pretty regular pickup games on specific nights where outsiders usually showed up, but this was about 8 years ago. Hope you find what youre lookin for, Steve.

I see this thread is from a year ago. But it's pretty much what I was looking for (glad I did a search). I'm looking to pick up a few games during the week. Anyone know the best days/times to check these parks out? Anyone out there playing ball anywhere. I'm just looking to play some decent pick up games. Nothing too serious. I just enjoy the game and would like to play somewhere.

Where do you live? There are churches and groups that play at different nights of the week. What kind of game do you have?

cosign barnett park. also, the YMCA is is good for basketball because you are bound to get a game and it is monitored by adults for adults. not open all night and not a cheap membership like the old days of YMCA. some of the churches in mandarin have leagues. you can check around for those.
