To the questions about jobs, most people here commute to Jax for the better jobs. Two of the bigger employers in St Augustine are the city and Northrop Grumman on US 1.

To the questions about the schools, St Johns county has lots of A rated schools.

St. Augustine is OK if you don't mind living so close to that rabid bunch of Republican Baptists comprising the city of Jacksonville.

Default St augustine or cocoa beach

Best for 71 year old man for safety & reasonable $ to live on? Just like to walk for 3 hours a day, beaches might be awesome, trails too........my eyes and body need sun more days.....be nice to have some info on 2 places please.......i might take a ride down there and check places out in august to see how summers are.......thanks for your time,,,,,denny

My mom [64 yrs old] walks St. Augustine Beach just about everyday and loves it. I don't get down there as much, but when I do, it's really a great beach for walking and families.

i,ll have to come down in august and walk the beach...see how summers are.....also when is tourist season there? winter or summers or all year around?....got to get out of snow country, and i love to walk and read in shade......thanks for your time...denny

Default Best Kept Secret

Problem with best kept secrets is that once the word is out it's no longer a secret. I see miles and miles of condos being built and polluting up the city like builders do everywhere that's even remotely nice.
