Winters here are very mild. It may dip in to the teens a few times over night. Normally lows in the low 40s and highs in the 50 or 60s. And you don't have to worry about snow. There are a lot of kids things to do in Jax. Here is a good website www.jax4kids.com If you click on the places to go tab it even breaks things down to each section of town for you.

Winters are fantastically mild. You can do pretty much any outdoor activity (that doesn't involve submersing yourself in water) year round.

For family activities, Jax has the usual assortment: Natural history museum, large library system, a very respectable regional park system with lots of amenities for youth sports. Also, don't underestimate our proximity to Orlando. Trips to Disney/Universal/etc are almost effortless, if your family is so inclined.
