What about these two areas? Or other suggestions?
We're looking at Yulee and Fleming Island. Both appear to have appx. the same commute from 32219. Both appear to have good schools.
Fleming Island looks to be more typically suburban, where Yulee looks to be more small townish?
We're a family of five, looking at a possible job. Trying to find a good fit.
Any other areas we should consider? We want good, safe schools and a short commute.
Thanks!

If I have my choice between the two I would choose Fleming Island, or the Orange Park area. Some where around Doctor's Inlet where you could have water access would be nice, and your away from Jacksonville, but still close to everything. Prices are really good now, so where ever you pick it should be a good deal.

Ditto Fleming Island. I totally love the area. Easy access to everything you need.

Both Yulee and Fleming Island are a pretty long commute from 32219. That being said, I'm not sure what other options you have, since the Westside of Duval doesn't have many good schools (aside from the Magnets). Callahan will be much closer that either - but it will be very rural like Yulee.
Generally, you assessment is correct. Yulee = rural/small town. Fleming Island = typical suburb.

I'm obviously bias since I live in Fleming Island, but of the two my personal preference is FI over Yulee.
My choice of lifestyle fits better here: any shopping I need to do (except for a bookstore) is right here; there are plenty of places for walking, bike riding, water activities, etc.; I enjoy the neighborly feel of our community; the beach (not a top priority for me) is only 35 minutes away; downtown Jax (a priority) is also only 35 minutes and an easy drive up Hwy 17. We did the commute from here to zip 32219 (to Pritchard). It was under 30 minutes. The only negative is that Hwy 17 can get a little trafficky through Orange Park, but traffic doesn't come to a halt - it's just thick and slow sometimes, but it moves.
We toured Yulee when we were househunting and we just didn't get the right feel for our lifestyle. That's what it comes down to: what is your personal preference. Hopefully you can come for a visit and check out both areas for yourself to see which is a better fit.
PS I just saw your other post about close proximity to Disney ... Fleming Island is closer than Yulee :-)
