My boyfriend and I work at the University of Florida....BIG Florida Gator Fans!!! We spend our weekends on our sailboat (40' Trimaran) on the St. Johns River in and around Green Cove Springs. This football season is a bit different because we want to still spend the weekends on the boat, but we need to find places that we can watch College Football. The first Gator game (Sept. 5th) we will be on the St. Johns River in Jax., so we are looking for a great place to watch some College Football.....and the Gator game with hopefully other Gator fans. Any information would be appreciated. GO GATORS!!

Whitey's Fish Camp is a great place to stop and have a bite and you'll be in gator country. Here's their website Whitey's Fish Camp - Home

There's always Hooter's at the Jacksonville Landing if you come all the way into Jax.

Hooter's at Goodby's Marina. It's on an inlet right off the St. Johns River north of Julington Creek.

Outback Crab Shack is also off an inlet of the St. Johns River just south of Green Cove Springs.

Hope these help.

My question is they are playing some school I have never even heard of. Will they still show it on tv?

I believe under the new SEC TV deal, every SEC game is televised now. Probably will be on one of the Fox Sports Nets.

Yes, that is my understanding as well. The Gator game on September 5th is televised on Fox Sports Network and on Sun Sports in Florida. I believe that Sun Sports is on the Comcast channel lineup. I'm not familiar with the cable channel lineup in Jax, but hopefully it will not be hard to find a location that is showing the game.

Good list, Crash. I second all of your suggestions.

My only caution is that a 40' boat might have some difficulty navigating up the creeks - particularly Goodby's creek. The landing might be your best bet.

Default Gator Bike Raffle

I heard there is a Gator Motorcycle Raffle with the tank signed by Urban Meyer. Custom Softail bike with graphics. Bike to be given away at Homecoming 2010.

40' trimaran....hmmmm...

Hooters on Goodby's creek is out, not enough dockage.

Best bets are 1. Whitey's 2. Hooters downtown.

Outback Crabshack may show the games, not too sure. Or make it a nice trip and head p river then down the ICW to fast boys wings. Plenty of dockage and they will have the game on. Then there is the option of St. A and all the options that come with catching a line at the city marina....

Then again, you are blow boaters and it'll take you a week to get down there...lol just kidding.... it's hard for me to imagine the water at anything below 80mph... makes those runs to the Glen and St. A go real quick...lol
