Would like to Relocate to Jacksonville
I am a single woman who is newly divorced. I have a 9 year old daughter. I am looking to relocate to Jacksonville from Delaware. I do not have my degree however I do have some college. I have banking experience and I am currently an Insurance Analyst. My question: How much cash do you think I need to relocate?? Also should I quit my job and move with no job or should I find a job first. I am VERY nervous about moving but I am desperate for change!!! How is car insurance in FL is it expensive.

DO NOT move here without first having a job locked down... The unemployment rate here is very bad and prospects in your job field are not good... That being said it is really an awesome place to live but don't move here without a job...
Many have tried most have failed...

Just to echo, it's almost always a very bad decision to quit a job without having another lined up.

Unfortunately, must agree!
We got here last January, without jobs lined up.......wife got laid off in NC and I was unemployed. We moved here, and even with my wife having a Bachelors Degree in Business/Accounting, she still had a hard time finding a job! She has been working thru a "Contract" with an Agency since Feb. and hopes the Contract will get extended again at the end of this month. Me, I'm still looking! Our situation was better for a move since we have no children, just wife and I.
We in Jax CD can tell that you want to get out of there, but don't do the wrong thing ESPECIALLY when you have a child!
Now, if you have family or close friends here that will help you, that is a different thing.

Before answering your questions accurately, a little more information will be needed:
1. Are you hot?
 Sorry ya'll, feeling ornery tonight.

Maybe you should first pay a visit to Adam and Eve, then answer the post.

Dont move to Jacksonville...ok...if you wanna ignore sane rational advice, and decide to come here..please have a job lined up...the unemployment is around 10% and growing! As cash needed..assuming you have transportation, you can find a move in special 2 br apt on the southside for like 400-600 moves you in..Electric is VERY expensive here and only going up..they wil require at least a 250 deposit..Just make you sure you stay on the Southside no matter what anybody tells you..parts of Arlington are Ok too..but just coming to the city try Baymeadows...
