Any Fall Festivals in Jax?
Greetings:
Just moved here from location where we had fabulous fall festivals--gigantic pumpkin contests, costume parades, very elaborate scarecrow decorating contests, etc. Anything like that in Jax? I know it's not the bastion of fall weather but I thought I would ask.

There are small fall festivals that specifically cater to the season. Not big events.
There are, however, lots of festiavls & events that are IN the fall though.

There are a few fall festivals, though I don't know that they are as elaborate as you would like.
Orange Park has one coming up real soon, around the corner of Kingsley and Hwy 17.
First Baptist Church of Middleburg has one on Halloween evening. My kids enjoyed it last year, as did I.

Most churches have a fall festival with things to jump, music and food. They will be announced soon in the First Coast Parents magazine.

Not necessarily a "fall" theme - but the Jekyll Island Shrimp & Grits festival is this weekend!

Went to the Riverside Arts Market on Saturday and really enjoyed it. It was worth the drive into town. Then, of course, I had to go visit the Kickbacks.

That's every Saturday, not just Fall persay.
Here is a new one:
Autumn Music Festival in Springfield
October 3rd & 4th, on 2 acres of land behind and next to Three Layers Coffee House & Wine Bar. Plenty of shade with a few giant oaks in this area. Blankets and lawn cahirs encouraged.
Jazz and adult R&B performers
Tickets are $10 per day
Family-friendly
This is in partnership the with American Cancer Society, so a large portion of the funds will be going directly to them.
Here's the site: Autumn 2009 - A Springfield Music Fest, Jacksonville, Florida, Jazz Blues R&B Folk Music
