The neighborhood has a great middle school, Darnell Cookman. It's a magnet, but if you are zoned for it you automatically get in.

The high school stinks, but some locals have thier kids attend there anyways. They say it's ok. Nothing that can't be managed at least, while others attend one of the various magnets.
Darnell Cookman is a middle school/high school...grades 6-10 (this year). Next year, it will be grades 6-11, and so on.

I was talking to Superintendent Pratt-Dannals the other day and he mentioned that. It's also a "medical magnet". Will do wonders for the neighborhood once it's a full-fledged highschool.

surely agree with North Chatanooga. When I would go there to play in High School, that place was a fecking warzone.

A wonder what a little urban pioneering can do.

Surprised that Inman Park in ATL wasn't listed. Did thier restoration happen too long ago? Anyone know?

don't know. I also disagree with South End in Charlotte. we are talking a microscopic neigborhood there. That would be like puting just San Marco Square on the lsit.

Found this older thread by accident...it's hilarious I noticed a couple of things right off
1.) fsu813 has been Springfield ''crazy'' for awhile now, it may be congenital by now. I hope its not contagious.
2.) When fsu318 gets really excited he loses all fine motor control, his misspelling count soars.
3.) This is the most worrying observation slimy frog(whom may or may not not be a so real person , formulated by Parks71) posted that she may have to try walking around Shands and the northwest area of Jax) and since that post has not been heard from since. I don't remember any petite female bodies being reported found in the NW Jax area or around Shands, Foul play? No longer needed fake posting identity? Forgot how to type?...Inquiering minds want to know!!!

Oh yeah, I was fake posting for quite a while!

But, there's really no need anymore.

A couple years ago a heckuva lot of people thought Riverside was totally sketchy and Springfield was a death trap. Since that time, both has recieved enough great national, local, and international press that most people don't have such ridiculous opinions anymore.

It's called progress/gentrification. : )

So slimyfrog didn't die? ... "wheeeew." I was so worried that non historic Springfield had claimed another innocent life, like so many times in the past.
