Hello, need some help & will be greatly appreciated! We are being transferred for my husband's job to Jacksonville very soon (mid-Dec) and we are not yet sure if we will be renting/buying a home. We are visiting JAX soon and I am trying very hard to locate temporary living space for us if that is what we end up needing until our purchase or rental of a home is complete. We are only 3 of us but we have 2 doggies (small, potty trained & non-shedding). The Corporate Relo program has found only 1 property but it is close to the beach. The problem I am finding is that there are nearly no hotels, corporate housing, short-term rental options in the area we are looking at living (Orange Park near Oakleaf/Fleming Island). My husband will be working at Cecil. Any suggestions/ideas? We could get away with as little as a suite or a small 1 bedroom, it should be furnished with some sort of fridge/microwave set up. Thanks in advance for any advice/guidance/referral!

When we reloacted to JAX last year, we went with Oakwood who had a fair number of choices around town. They are a reputable international corporate housing entity. The accomodation was pet friendly and very pleasant. The only issue is that Oakwood corporate apts are very expensive if you're paying out of pocket. Hope this helps!

Oh I forgot -- you may want to contact some of the nicer, newer apartment complexes about corporate housing. I know that our complex in Southside provides this service, and the relocation services may not know that.

The options in the areas you're looking (OP and FI) will be more limited. If nothing turns up, you can try looking across the river in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville. It will lengthen the commute for sure, but it might turn up more options. Once you get closer to I95, you should see more short-term places. I don't think you need to go as far as the beach. I would ask your Corporate Relo contact to check Mandarin and Southside in Jacksonville for you.

Good luck.
