I recieved a traffic ticket while on my way back home to NC on I-95 outside of Jacksonville. I cleaned out my truck today and noticed that my 30 days to handle the ticket is on Monday. Couldn't get anyone on the phone today so I will need to handle it on Monday.

Anyway I have two questions:

1. For those of you that have used lawyers to fight speeding tickets please let me know who you recommend and the outcome.

2. I don't have any speeding tickets on my record. So traffic court is optional. I wouldn't mind going that route but I am afraid that my state will still give me points on my license and my insurance will go up so I am not for sure on doing this. Does anyone know if the ticket even though the points are held in FL would be transferred to my state?

Thanks, in advance. In this day and age I can't afford an insurance increaase so I need as much help as I can get.

the points transfer actually depends on the state system itself. i received points from a ticket in South Carolina that transferred to my florida license. i actually asked the dmv the same question about transferring points and they told me it depended on the state. so my suggestion is don't chance it. i don't think the 30 days would be too late but don't hold me to that. florida allows you to take an online traffic school course for minor violations. you would mail in your certificate after completion with the fine listed on the ticket. actually all the instructions should be on the back of the ticket. that will avoid both court appearance and points. call the number listed on the ticket for further assistance but you should be fine. i wouldn't worry too much just act now though.
