Hi, I am from Miami, and we want to move in 2010. Jax is one of the cities that we are considering. We are Miamians and we don't want to move anywhere that is too cold. I am a teacher and my husband is in IT.
I haven't done any research about IT in Jax, but I figured I would ask here first.

Thanks

I don't live in Jacksonville, but have been there many times and have been considering the move to there as well. I also work in IT. I've been looking on a lot of job sites and I wouldn't call the IT field great in Jacksonville... It's not bad, but it's not great either. From what I have seen, I think the best IT Job Market would be in the Tampa/Orlando areas. However, if you really want to move to Jacksonville, I'm sure you'll find something... just don't expect hundreds of jobs on job sites.

IT is a vague term... Unfortunately a lot of people use that term to make their job sound more impressive than it is... It encompasses extremely technical positions like Developers and Engineers (which are really in demand) to extremely non-technical positions like helpdesk support and "analyst" positions (which aren't in demand at all here, or anywhere really)...

I am a software developer and sent one resume down here while I was living in MD... A few months later and I was here...
