Default Blazing internet service choices?

Moving to Jax soon & was wondering if anyone has input on what the fastest internet service providers are in the area.

I do a lot of high-end stuff & need a robust connection. Does Verizon have FiOS in the area yet? What do the cable companies offer?? Just plain DSL probably wont be enough because their upload time is really slow. Thanks!!

I had no choice in mine. It's a new neighborhood, so the developers sign up with a cable company to lay all the cable lines and they have us captive for a certain number of years.

But it worked out well, it's Comcast broadband and I have no complaints - it's fast and reliable and I bundle it with my cable tv for a discount.

Do you know your location yet?

Not yet. Probably somewhere out west. Does Verizon have FiOS down there yet?? Its insanely fast & just as cheap as cable/DSL.

FiOS - Doesn't look like they offer it near me. If you have a zip or an address, try entering it in at verizon.com and seeing if it's offerred.

The other bonus with broadband is little to no weather interference, especially if you're in a location where the utilities/cables are underground.

They have FIOS here in Bradenton, but I am not impressed with it. I have a lot of connectivity issues, and it is not any faster than the DSL I had before. My computer moves faster than FIOS does.
