potential Vistakon job - live in Batram Park area?
Hello,
Any folks working at Vistakon? I'm looking for advice on areas to live closeby. Bartram Park area off of St Augustine Rd any good? How is traffic on this area, I would really like to be half-hour or less away from Vistakon on Centurion Park Blvd.
Thanks!

Your job is actually in a great spot for apartment rentals - you really don't need to look outside the area unless you wanted to.
You'll be right in the Deerwood area (Southside) and there are a lot of apartment rentals all up and down Southside Blvd right there. Plenty of restaurants and shopping too.....it's a convenient part of town.
There's at least one other thread going on regarding the apartments in this area.
The Bartram Park area should be fine, but you might want to look closer to work first.

Thanks for the reply Riveree,
I was actually considering buying a house for me, my wife and the pet dog. Apartments are probably not an option for me (unless we can't find a house immediately).
Any other thoughts from other folks?

Actually if your looking for a house there are quite a few subdivisions right in the 9a/baymeados area that would be 10 mins or so to work.
what range are you looking to spend and we can give you some names .

Myfask, I'm looking at 0-5 yr old homes 175k-215k range, and my initial research of the area, that puts me in a 2-3 bed 1 garage townhome. Hopefully this info helps. What's it like in the 9a/baymeadows area?
Thanks!

I live in bartram park in townhouse and love it I leave every morning at 8am and rarely run into any slow dwns. The area is quiet and close to alot of shopping and rest right at the entrance. Also its nice to run on the sidewalk dwn batram park blvd, and also the nature preserve w/ 6 miles of trails.

Hi rx03,
It looks like we will actually be work neighbors. I work in Capital Plaza also, just one building over from you. I am in building 2, which is Wachovia Bank. I live on Hodges Blvd (zip 32224) and I love it. Morning commumte is great, although the afternoon drive home can be tiresome. That will change once the JTB/I-295 (goes by 9A until interchange completed) is finished. There are still great deals to be had in my area as far as condos are concerned. I would check the Beach/Hodges intersection for great deals in the mid 100's. There is a huge shopping center near by anchored by Super Target and a soon to be opened Super Walmart; not to mention great schools. The housing slump is making for great deals right now. Good luck, and as always, I am open for questions.
