I am going to the Gator Bowl and we want to go to The Landing for New Years Eve. How bad will the crowds be? Will you be able to get into the bars or will their be like an hour wait? Do they sell beer in the open area of the landing? Any help about what to expect would be great.

Some things change from year to year, but the Landing being a mosh pit on New Year's Eve is almost a guarantee. Not sure about outdoor alcohol vendors cause they cracked down on that for this year's FL-GA game.

The crowd huge, mosh pit -like as the other poster said. As will all the establishments inside the Landing. However, with-in walking distance there are a number of other bar/lounges.

Marks, The Ivy, Dive Bar, TSI, Dos Gatos, Poppy Love Smoke & London Bridge are all with-in walking adistnace of the Landing and of eachother.

what FSU and project said. Of course don't forget your ID. i guess if you are going to be drinking you won't forget that anyway. but you will probably need it just to get into the landing at night. Yes expect some of the biggest crowds you will ever see in jax. Expecially with Bobby's last game and all. it should be slow nudging room only at the landing all the way to the main street bridge. if you want see fireworks get a spot a good spot early. Main Street Bridge usually is the best and STAY there.
