Jax Beach vs. Atlantic Beach
I know Jax Beach and Atlantic Beach are right next to each other, but I am looking for comparisons of the two in terms of:
1. Types of people who live there
2. Types of people who hang out there
2. Nightlife in terms of restaurants and bars/pubs.
I've heard that Jax Beach has a bit more of a "tank tops and tattoos, redneck" factor (as an acquaintance put it) while Atlantic Beach was a little bit more yuppie, but I wanted to get as many opinions as possible.
I'm a 28 year old single professional male and will be moving to one of the two places. Any opinions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Wmufunc,
Actually, you have Neptune Beach between the two, but yeah, they are really close.
Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach are really nice...nice housing, living here would be nice......
But party in Jax Beach ! Jax Beach is where the action is.
Your acquaintance has it right.

Yep. Your friend has the right number on Jax Beach. It's a great place to shop, eat and party but I wouldn't want to live there at all. We went to Carrabba's in Jax Bch recently and our friend from NY couldn't stop commenting on the "hillbillies" he saw. I don't notice that stuff as much because we live here but I can definitely see where he was coming from. They're coming to visit again and he would rather stay in a hotel in Intracoastal West than Jax Bch.

quite frankly as far as I'm concerned the JAX beach crowd leaves a lot to be desired, I don't think that I'd be budddy buddy with anyone there but I wouldn't go so far as to put them down, they are what they are, they were here long before I showed up and I can't change anything, so just deal with it as it is.
If the "hillbillys" bother anyone that much they are free to not come to town.

Hey kort have you noticed over the past few years they have been selling those little houses in Jax beach west of A1A and tearing them down and building big ones.

I've only been here a short time, but things like that happen everywhere, the 1950's ranches get torn down and replaced by 4k sq foot mini mansions everywhere. In fact back in NJ I have one of those 1950 houses and I suspect that when I sell it, it will be torn down, house ok, location, fantastic
