Sorry--I decided to bundle my services with Comcast. With the bundling, our bill came out to $50 less than if we got everything individually. Of course, our bill will increase after a year because the "deal" they offer is only good for 1 year. We live in Marsh Landing and we've only had one incident with Comcast going down for 1 day. The only issue I have is a little glitch between my alarm company and Comcast. They play the blame game. Congrats on your new home.

Embarq DSL is 24.95, I know you've seen the commericials on T.V lol. But Comcast right now the promotional rate Is $42.95/month for 3 month(s), ongoing price is $52.95/month Comcast Home. I would get the DSL. It's not as fast as the comcast of course (so they say), but if your not going to be using it for big stuff like playing games online, downloading big files, then get the DSL. It's just better for the money, paying 52 dollars for a internet is horrible in my opinion, I'd rather goto the library. But get the DSL if its too slow get the comcast.

5FLgirls,

What kind of a glitch does Comcast cause? I have Comcast too. Is it causing a glitch with ADT? Safetouch?

Actually, it's with Brinks. When the alarm is on and someone breaks in, and on the off chance you are using the phone calling 911 or something, the signal doesn't go through. So now I make sure not to use my phone in the evening when the alarm is on. I'm a slave to the alarm!! I know I live in a relatively safe area but there's no way I want to be alone with my kids unprotected! Brinks says the glitch is from how comcast connected the system and Comcast says that's not possible. Whatever.

usually there is a way that the alarm seizes the phone line.

2 ways around your problem, use a dedicated cell phone, use a second phone line,
The best and most cost effective thing to do would be to have them do what they are either too lazy or too stupid to figure out, program the damned thing to seize the phone line regardless of it being used

You would be right but lazy and stupid are the correct terms for both companies right now.

Okay, I was concerned that it was a wireless signal problem or something. I only use my land line for faxing, cell for everything else, so hopefully there would be no issues then.
