Where to live in Jacksonville?
I am posting for my sister. She currently lives in Miami and wants to live in Jacksonville. She works for an airlines, so relative proximity to an airport is important to her. Currently she drives about 30 minutes to MIA. She loves animals and wants a home with land, a barn would be a plus, and relaxed zoning so that if she wants chickens, a horse and a goat or two, it would be okay. No kids, now or in the future. Any suggestions? They are looking in the 300-400K range, plus or minus.

The outskirts of Fernandina Beach might work, you can also check out Yulee...anywhere up around there might be a good balance of acreage and JIA proximity.

Try the Northside first. There are a lot of newer subdivisions near the airport that are relatively inexpensive, especially compared to Miami and the rest of S. Florida.
Even the Southside would not be too bad a commute, about 30-40 minutes to the airport depending on the time of day. There are tons of affordable homes and townhomes in that area as well along with great shopping and tons of things to do.

The Fort Caroline near 9-a is a good area to live in and go over the Dames Point Bridge to I-95 north and that leads you to the airport.

Since JIA is located on the Northside, your sister should stay in North Jacksonville. Wherever in the Northside she stays, she would be no more than 10-15 minutes from the airport.
