Default John's Creek - Hodges

Any opinions on this neighborhood/location (traffic, shops, crime, schools, things to do, etc.)? I'm not sure if it is on the Southside or IW. It is located on Hodges about 1/2 mile N of JTB. Thanks!

the area is fine, close to the beaches and shopping, and work areas. I guess it would be ICW

Great location! Tons to do over that way.

Hodges & Beach (just north of the development you're interested in) has a new shopping area with a SuperTarget, a Kohl's (I think?), a Bealls, etc. A couple of Publix supermarkets right in the vicinity, a couple of Starbucks, lots of nice casual restaurants over that way too. The Saint Johns Town Center is nearby too for more upscale restaurants.

You'd be very close to the beach - shouldn't be more than 10 minutes from there.

Crime is very low in this area. You obviously have to lock your doors and all that to not invite opportunity, but this is a nice part of Jacksonville, no major issues.

As for whether it's Southside or Intracoastal West, it might be considered more Southside (a little too far south probably to be considered IW). It really doesn't make any difference though. It was all lumped in as "Southside" until just a few years ago. Once all the new construction starting heating up in the area, the name 'Intracoastal West' popped up as a way to differentiate and give a name to an area that was mainly just woods between the beach and the more known 'Southside' parts......they're almost interchangeable and one is not better than the other.

Default Loved the area...

I just moved from there (job relocation). We looked in John's Creek. We found it to have too much traffic. We prefered Riverbrook. Not as much traffic and loved the neighborhood.

Thanks for all of the responses. VTSluggo, are you saying that you found the neighborhood of John's Creek to have too much traffic? Both neighborhoods are located in the same area on Hodges. Is Riverbrook a smaller neighborhood? Thanks.

Default It is a smaller neighborhood.

Johns Creek had more traffic driving through. It is layed out like your standard blocks you are used to. Not many cul-de-sacs. I was concerned about my kids playing with that many cars driving by.

Riverbrook is a big circle with off chutes and cul-de-sacs. My kids played with neighbors with little worry about cars driving around.
