Well folks were back and want to wish everyone a Happy Fathers day. Lets get to it.
She says: We went to Jacksonville Beach by the pier for a day at the beach. I had a great time there was a shower to clean off afterwards which is a big plus in my opinion and we had a great grouper sandwich right nearby at Beachside seafood. There were walks of all life, you name it and they were there. It was a great mix of people and we had a great day. Micklers Beach on the other hand just felt different not sure why it was neat seeing peoples’ dogs on the beach though.
He says: We went to a nice beach this week up in Jax next to the pier. It was a pretty clean and nice kept area. The beach was big and there was plenty of room for everybody. It took about 35 – 40 minutes to get there but was worth it. The other beach we went to I was not so fond of it is really close to where we live but many people had brought their dogs out to the beach and it was friggin hot. Not sure what to make of that.
He says: We registered our cars this week. A tip to those who live down in St. Johns County there is a little county office off of Race Track Road on Flora Branch. They were very helpful and we were in and out of it quickly. I was holding my breath to see the damages and DL and Title, Tags came to $206 dollars. I was quite happy with that.
She says: We went to the nicest DMV I have ever been to this week. The lady was smiling and making small talk as we filled out our paperwork. I have never had such a nice experience at the DMV.
He says: I was drug kicking and screaming to the outlet malls off of 95 on 16. I didn’t see to many things there to merit a return trip, nor were the prices that great. I hate shopping though. So if you like to shop come take my wife with you. A bonus though is we had a great little dinner at a place called Hurricane Patty’s and enjoyed live music and sat next to the water, that’s good stuff I tell ya.
She says: I have been waiting to go to the outlet stores since we arrived. Eddie Bauer is one of my favorite stores and there is one there. The prices in some of the stores were fantastic but some might as well have been a regular store. I didn’t get to see the Tommy Bahama store I will though. Next time I will go alone and be able to spend more time there. I think you could spend the better part of a day there if that’s what you like.
He says: If I had to do it all over again I would be living in a different area. Going to the beach I took JTB and right where it connected with I guess its 1 or A1A that area was fantastic. Clean, everything I need. I really liked that area so if anyone is considering moving to the Jax check this area out.
Both: One last thing we want to speak to. We have heard a mixed response about the people you will meet in Jax. We have been very happy with the people we have met they have all been very kind and helpful with any questions we have had. (Except for our neighbors not sure what is going on in that realm) The people who post on this forum frequently are a good barometer of the people you will meet here, riveree, kort677, myfask are all quite representative of the quality people we have met so far. Personally I love Southern hospitality.
