My thoughts exactly. At a certain level most or all of those soft skills are assumed but I can't see any harm in putting them on a resume.

I, too was told at a Work Force Center training to 'use their words' when doing a cover letter.
I don't know. Have only had 3 interviews in this past year (didn't get a job - I think it may have something to do with being 56 - because on paper they can't tell). And actually, with 200-300 people applying for every job, I guess it was good that I even got that far.
It's tough to know what to do or say. My last interview, which was at a faith based organization, one woman actually asked me if I was tolerant of other cultures religions. Don't know where that one came from as I never said what religion I was. But I did mention in my cover letter that I would enjoy working with a faith based organization. Go figure. Oh - I said 'Of course I am'. Didn't get me the job tho.
