It wasn't too bad. The first round (2 interviews) was held over the phone, and the second round (4 interviews) was held on-site in 1 day. It was disappointing that I didn't get the job after meeting so many great employees and managers.

For most jobs in my area you are going to have at least 10 seperate interviews over 2 days. Possibly more if they have 2 candidates that are close.

I had two phone interviews, then a face-to-face, then another face-to-face, and then three more phone interviews. I don't think that is common, but the hiring manager was very cautious.

I had one that lasted all day and met with 7 different people. Worse interview of my life. At least they bought me lunch. But I had to eat a vacation day.

Other than that I have had a couple of interviews that I got called back in for a second.

For high level positions, that generally require supervising someone, or that could cost the potential employer lots of money if they make a mistake, there could easily be multiple interviews, and trips across country, or multinational.

Are they planning to bring you back in for a 7th interview?

If they do I'm asking how much more of this there is. At this point I know I'm the final applicant, know the salary... It would be a shame to go this far and blow it, but seriously...

If you're the final applicant, why would they drag it out so long? It's like they're giving you opportunities to blow it for now reason.

I know it's frustrating but you've made it this far. I would just stick it out especially if this is a desirable job. In this economy, you cannot afford to be too picky and its a good sign that you are a finalist.
