What do you mean you BELIEVE a message was left ...? You were quite clear when you related the story originally that you simply didn't show up and said nothing about leaving a message. Your prevarication is irritating, chump. The only reason I brought this up in the first place was so that maybe some younger people reading these threads will think twice about just not showing up to a job. It's rude, irresponsible, immature, unprofessional and people DO remember. Go back to the Fruit Loops and the couch, Grasshopper.
Hedge your bets and take the first job but by all means interview and pursue the second. You just need to realize that you will probably never be able to get a position with that contact company again if you leave the job.
