I've never really done anything like this before so I don't know how this goes. Basically I got accepted to San Diego State after attending community college so I'll be moving down there in August from L.A. so obviously I'm not moving for work.
Seeing as I currently live in L.A. I want to know how can I go about searching for a job in San Diego now so when I move I'll already be set up with employment instead of searching when I get down there.
Well, I would try Indeed.com and Careerbuilder. Might look into Craigslist for SD area, but just be wary of the many scams out there. There ARE good jobs on CL but you have to wade through a lot of crap to find them.
Try and network with people who you will be with, professors, students, the school, etc
Assuming you'll have a FT load at the uni...
Dad says that you FIRST find a place to live as near the campus as possible
(even if you don't move until school starts)
THEN look for a job either very close to campus
or very close to the apartment so you'll be able to minimize the commute
(both the time and the expense)
WHAT you'll be doing is largely immaterial in that scenario.
