I previously created a thread displaying my wish, just like many others, to work and reside in the US however as an entry level accountant. I'm in my final year in a bachelor of accountancy degree in Malta, so I'm planning to move overseas next year.
What are the chances of finding employment as a non American in a firm? The problem being that I would be unable to stay travelling back and forth in my final year, so I planned on coming on an extended vacation and apply for work there and then. But really how would an audit firm (although it could be a non audit firm) there react to a non US citizen applying - would I simply be rejected until I get permanent residence?
Everyone's been saying how hard it is to get a visa, which I'm sure is true and probably just as hard for a US citizen to get EU citizenship (don't know why an American should consider residing in the EU lol but anyways). Nobody is really helping on how applicable my degree is in the States or even whether I would be able to seek work - anyone please has any advice to offer?
