I'm going to talk to the HR manager today. Hes the one I interviewed with and seemed like a pretty laid back guy. This is some women working under him that I have been talking to the past couple of days.
I'm going to explain to him what is going on and then give him three more personal references and my grocery store supervisor if needed. I mean there is nothing else I can give them.
This HR person seems like a nit wit. Coworkers are supposed to be your references. If it came down to it I'd just get a disposable cell and ask a friend or relative to play someone for you.
In my industry, references mean someone who was your manager / supervisor, not simply a coworker.
That said, it sounds as if the HR person here needs to work on their communication skills.
I try to have references from various walks of life for this reason. Some people I know from volunteer work, some people from current work, some from past work, some industry peers.
The only reason I can think about HR's position is that two coworkers from the same place would likely provide the same perspective about your abilities and experience. Maybe they want three unique viewpoints. In any case, I'd try to fulfill her request. Perhaps you can ask your neighbor or church deacon or someone like that?
