I graduated college in Dec. 2009. Worked as a commercial real estate agent from June 2010 - Jan. 2011. I could no longer afford the travel expenses necessary to cover the territory I was assigned, so I left the position. While there, I never got into the sales aspect of the position. My time was spent in training and building the required database of properties.
I've been looking for non-sales positions since leaving in January with no luck. I'm wondering if I should even list this position on my resume since I was there for under a year. Is the fact that I never sold anything hurting my job hunt, since a salesperson's success is judged by the number of sales they produce?
Part of me says to leave it. If I remove it, I'll have an unemployment gap from Dec. 2009 to now. The other part of me says the short time I was there and they fact that I never even got into the sales part of the job is hurting me. What are everyone's thoughts on this?
