When an employer say they will call you back but doesn't should you call or wait? I met with an employer and she had me take some assessments and told me after she processes them she will give me a call back but after 2 days still no call back should I call her or keep waiting?
There is no harm in calling after a couple of days as long as you keep it brief and ultra professional. I would call just once, give them my contact info and move on.
Once I went on an interview that I thought went very well. The manager told me she will absolutely call me bythe end of the week. She gave me her card and told me to call her if I didn't hear from her. I never heard from her again. I called and emailed, no response. I still don't understand why she made such a big show of giving me her card and promising me she would call. And this was from a major large company.

That said, when ending an interview and being told they will contact you, there is nothing wrong with asking the question of when you can expect to hear back. In your case, asking about the usual time-frame to process assessments is a valid question.

i've waited weeks, months, no response, i've called them back but same old excuse such as "we are still reviewing applications"
