Look ... I know early mornings are not your cup of tea but no one hates them as much as I do ... Yet I am willing and able to wake up at 5:30'ish to ensure that I'm out the door by 6:10 as I don't waste time getting dressed and I eat breakfast on the train. Come on TVSG ... This is an awesome opportunity and the commute isn't that bad ... Don't even THINK of not taking this job which was practically handed to you on a silver platter. You are blessed to have this opportunity so don't squander it just because the commute is less than ideal.

Metrolink (AKA Metro-stink) only caters to those commuting FROM the suburbs into the city of LA ... I'm a reverse commuter and thus, have limited trains that services my particular commute. I honestly do not know how they expect us to get to work as their schedules make NO sense. Not only is there only TWO morning trains, there is only ONE evening train (direct that is) that could get me back at home. If I miss it, I have to do this complex transfer thing which adds 1-1.5 hour to my commute. *sigh* So. Cal isn't Philly when it comes to mass transit especially in the particular suburb that I work in...

I know I'm just saying it's going to take me a couple of weeks to get used to it because I been working so close to home for a long time.
And if you wake up at 5:30am how do you get out of the house by 6:10am?-lol Something about that doesn't sound right to me.

As I've stated, I hate early mornings so I hustle my butt into the shower, get dressed, grab my bag and fly out the door ... I have this routine down to 30 minutes but give myself an extra 10 minutes so I'm not rushing. My clothes are already set aside the night before and my hair only takes 2 minutes to place into a ponytail. I can eat and do my makeup on the train.

It's supply and demand which determines mass transit schedules, something which pretty much everyone knows.
If you're already thinking of vomiting about having to get up at 6AM and that small part of you between the ears is already contemplating turning down the job offer because of the train's Saturday schedule, maybe your best bet is to scotch the whole plan and apply for SSDI. Of course you'll have to go through a barrage of psychological evaluations in order to qualify but I don't think you'd have a problem.

see my hair takes 10 mins. But since I no longer work down the street I think I will make sure my clothes are already ready the night before so I can save some time in the morning. I will also take the trash out on Sunday Nights now and not Monday Morning.
The only thing I want to be doing in the mornings is shower, hair, and getting dressed.

You can make it happen with those small adjustments... Sounds like you and I have something in common .. We hate early mornings! Believe me, it takes so much time and pressure off my shoulders when I prepare my clothes and lunch the night before as I'm usually fuzzy brained that early in the AM. Shower = 10 minutes, hair = 2 minutes, grooming = 10 minutes, dressing = 8 minutes .... After which I can grab my lunch out of the fridge and my bag then skedaddle my butt out the door to catch my bus by 6:10am

There is enough demand to improve the schedules as many commuters HATE the long freeway commutes ... some partial afternoon trains have even been added (course they don't help much with my particular commute) ... The real issue is this particular company sucks and none of their city to suburban schedules make sense.

BTW: I do think this particular post is uncalled for ...
