I have an interview with the NY State Comptrollers office located in Manhattan. Its a good opportunity but it only pays $12 per hour. I currently work in retail, which is not related to my major of finance at all. Should I interview with the Comptroller office and see if I get this position? Or continue my retail job?

My motto, especially these days, never turn down an interview, you never know what can come of it. Plus you have a finance major, we all gotta start somewhere. Unless you wanna be in retail forever....

That's true. These days are pretty rough! And I definitely DO NOT like my retail job...

There is probably more room for long term advancement with the state job. It might also open up the door to other state jobs.

The comptroller job has to provide more relevant experience than the retail job.

Good luck on your interview. You can always work nights and weekends to supplement your income, but at least you'd be taking your career in the right direction.

Thank you! It went well! I just love the whole vibe of Manhattan & how everyone is all hustle & bustle.

There actually is a second interview, I have to see if I am one of the qualifying candidates.
