Exactly. The OP gave the company a deadline to get back to him on his salary requirements. The company probably laughed at that and found it pompous.

As Bob said unless you're a high leve exec or an actor negotiating your multi million dollar picture deal you don't give a company a deadline.

The ball is in their court on when they will get back to you.

This ship has sailed. Hopefully the OP has learned from this.

A sign of maturity is knowing how to negotiate an offer.

You've learned your lesson. Now you can be more mature when you receive your next offer.

You will seem desperate if you go back to them. They are done with you. You have to let go.
