Checking emails I came across this a reply from something I applied to 3/4 weeks ago.

It said the following...

Your interest about the job has been received. This might seem a little different from the Social Services position ad we placed on Craigslist. The Hiring Dept of the company has reviewed your resume and we believe you have the required qualifications for the job. Do you have a yahoo messenger on your computer? If not download one. To proceed with this application, you must undergo an online interview that will be conducted via yahoo messenger.

I was wondering if anyone has undergone this kind of interview. I find it a bit strange...I don't usually even use social network communicating tools. Just wondering about other people's experience in this regard. Is this the new norm?

Sounds fishy, especially since Craigslist is involved.

I had a response like this to my resume. I ignored it. Why? It's a scam. It's also unprofessional. Further, it's not serious. I want to see the face and the place, just like if the employer is serious, he would desire the same. The person behind the Yahoo messenger could be some loonie or a former co-worker.

It's just silly.
