true but i think it depends on the type of jobs you are interviewing for, for me, i've been applying, interviewing at entry-level service jobs, minimum-wage jobs in retail, fast-food, customer-service, etc.

I said this before and I know you probably dont want to hear but it simply means your interview skill is bad, nothing more.

it still does not mean anything. If you feel your interviewing skills are not good, you can always work on improving them but remember you only need to do it right once.

Keep interviewing, have a positive attitute and you will get the job.

Keep doing the same thing while expecting different result is called insanity.

To OP, Based on the answers you have provided, frankly I wouldn't hire you either. You sound like someone who has no clue how to work and need a lot of maintenance. I need someone to do the job not to find more work for me.

For example, I already provided enough information on how to improve your answers but what did you do? You kept asking others to answer them for you. That just confirmed my assessment that you require a lot of maintenance. Well as a hiring manager, I have no time for that and certainly don't want the headache.

I have been unemployed many many times and even though I do not work entry level retail positions I would tell you my experience.

Confidence wins every time. I went to at least 30 interviews in the last 3 months and I pretty much answered the same questions and did the same every single time. After 3 months (and periods where I was getting really desperate and believed I would never get another interview let alone a job), I got 3 offers in one week. I have been on the job one month and loving it and I got another offer today.

Some times you are competing with more candidates and sometimes co's take a long time to fill those positions. That said, this is just my experience. If you know how to the job, or even if you are entry level but have willingness to learn and a positive attitude , do not despair. But if you feel you have some lacking in the interviewing skills, by all means look for help in try to improve this area.

it's just because people's opinions, answers always vary on this issue, like for example, one person said "you may not be doing anything wrong during interviews, but the bottom line is that they liked somebody else better" that sounds like something that is beyond my control

You sir are incorrect. If I hear this line during the interviews, I would eliminate you right away. Why? Because you aren't taking any initiative to find ways to improve yourself. You rather blame on things "beyond my control."

I tell you this. During my interview I always look for this "failure is not an option in my book" mentality. Don't tell me it can't be done. Tell me what you will do to get it done!!

I also have news for you, you can make yourself very likeable very easily. You just aren't willing to do it. In my article I had you read, I already outlined what is needed in an interview. Did you bother to ask me how to become confident and attractive etc?

Let it go. You are not going to get anywhere having the same conversations over and over.

If people don;t want to hear what you have to say, telling them over and over isn't going to make them see the truth.

This poster reminds me a lot of the responses of silenthelpreturns. Nothing is ever their fault, nothing needs to be done differently.
