Something else: Since EVERYONE lies about one thing or another in life, then that shows that it says alot about ALL of our characters. The hypocrites here make such silly statements especially when those statements apply to them as well. EVERYONE LIES INCLUDING THE NAYSAYERS HERE.

This really isn't true. Americans are significantly behind other areas of the world in terms of the more technical skills.

I think PEOPLE create jobs, not governments. I think if we had enough qualified people in the more intellectually based fields, they absolutely would create jobs. Personally? I would much rather hire an American than have to deal with offshore contractors, but it is simply very difficult to find a competent computer programmer without going to a contracting firm. The last open position we posted got five resumes total, working a typical 40 hour week paying $70k/year. There just flat out are not that many Americans who know how to do that kind of work.

So that means you just say screw it, I might as well not even try to be a decent human being?

Not all of us think that way.

Which part is the lie?

It's common for someone to feel better about a bad character trait if he believes everyone else has the same bad trait (whether they admit it or not). It doesn't make it true.

I had to (temporarily) unhide hnsq's post since I have him on Ignore, to see what this was about.

hnsq has in recent weeks variously pretended to be a small business owner, a gunsmith, a restauranteur, and now the boss at a software company. Whatever's convenient to make himself seem important in the given thread.

That's the part that's the lie.

Like I have said already: Everyone that has posted in this thread lies be it on a resume or in some other situation in life. Whether it is a white lie or a big lie it does not matter. No one in this thread or any other thread is 100% honest 100% of the time. So that makes EVERYONE a liar one way or another.
