I have a strict dad. He's 72 and treats me like I'm 15. I actualy 30.
He Won't let me become a truck driver. He wants me in a factory job
that just do not exist out here. I am 6 feet tall and skinny in frame
so the last thing I need to do is spend 30 years in a factory. I am
in debt because my father will not let me take what's out there
that I can do or even travel out of state. He currently have me
training at HR Block. This is why it seems I'm stuck living in one
spot. Because of him.
Well this answers everything. You do not want to step away from your family. How does a 30 year old let his father tell him what to do?
The answer, is a 30 yr old who still has not matured. You are being treated like your 15, because you choose to. He can do nothing to you if you pack up your things and move to a actual city that has jobs.
Are you afraid he will ground you? Take away your PS3 and allowance?

Grow up and do what is best for you.
While I am cool with leaving, if I did leave I probably would not
have a home to come back to.

Is this a joke? If not, this has got to be one of the most pathetic post I've ever read.
I know how you feel OP, I'm in the worst part of SC where there's absolutely no jobs to choose from. My parents don't like the places I'm applying to, but there's not many choices I can choose from and they call me "desperate" anytime somebody calls me back after a application submission. Getting a call back after a application submission nowadays, especially in smaller counties are like winning the lottery so I would be a fool for turning down an interview because I might feel like it might be "beneath" me.
I would love to relocate...I have tried trust me, BUT when you have no transportation and the company won't do phone interviews, then you're screwed. It's a risk also digging in my savings for the bus too.

I understand what you're going through because I'm in the same situation. I have awful parents that I'm forced to live with otherwise I will be homeless(my father is kicking me out the house anyway) and right now my dad is the one with the car, he won't let me use it nor leave the house to apply for jobs and interview for them.
There's nothing pathetic about it when you have parents who are emotionally and mentally abusive enough they won't let you live your life and advance yourself in your career.

How does Dad control what career you have?
How does he control you leaving the State?
The ONLY family that may keep you from moving are children, and I figure you don't have any of those.
Just tell him Dad, you are going to be gone in a few years and I have the rest of my life to worry about, I am going to do this, it would be nice if I had your support.
No need to worry about having a place to come back to, when you leave you should consider it a one way trip.
