I am thinking about changing my career path back to what I did over a decade ago. I am tired of the corporate rat race and the caddy backstabbing. Thinking about the last time I really flourished was in retail.

I know I am crazy, but I think now in my life I need to do something I excel at without the stress. I have over ten years of very successful experience, however my current experience has nothing to do with retail.

How do you do a resume showing you have experience, but isn't a timeline? TIA!

I'm guessing that when you went into corporate you listed that retail job but probably not in much detail as it may not have had much relevance to the position you were applying to. Now I'd list it with some more pertinent and relevant details; and when listing your recent corporate positions, add details which would be relevant to a retail position. For instance, interaction with inter-company personnel, interaction with company associates; any financial dealings you were involved with - anything at all which in any way overlaps the fields. Good luck!

And, no, you're not crazy at all!

Thanks STT. I know there is another 'style' of resume, I cannot remember what it is called. I actually never had to do the switch believe it or not, on resumes from retail to corporate!! I had a baby and the job I took following led me to the path I am on now. I am miserable and need to find a way back to doing something that makes me happy.
