I had a recruiter e-mail me about a position. I sent her an updated c.v. and e-mailed back some answers to questions she had about salary range etc last week.

I e-mailed her yesterday afternoon because I hadn't heard back anything. I saw on caller ID that she phoned me last night but she didn't leave a message. It has been nearly 10 years since I applied for jobs, so I'm not quite sure what to do.

Should I e-mail her again, or phone her? Or is she supposed to phone me?

(As you might see from another thread I have on here I am worried she has discovered I was fired from my last position.Although there were major extenuating circumstances I can't explain any of that unless I talk to her).

Yes be persistent. I just landed my job interview, with a less than professional group of recruiters that way. These recruiters lost my personality test results, didn't give me a confirmation of my 11AM phone interview this morning, but I figured WTH this is what it is these days so just do my best. I wasn't ready for the 11AM but collected myself and closed for my interview which I have this Monday at 3 for a good paying sales job. I figure I will use their lack of competence to my advantage, they know I did the personality test, lost the results, the hiring manager says come in so now there is one less thing they can potentially reject me for.

I am not joking but recruiters these days, are more like mercs for hire. If I sent you the e-mails they have sent me with horrible grammar and incomplete sentences you would be suprised. They are hustling and if you dont' stand out and be persistent you will get left in the stack of papers.

Also another trick I learned in sales if you want to reach someone, your recruiter let's say, most give out their cell phone number. Call them at a time when they don't expect business calls and they will answer think it's their friend/spouse. Then you ask oh did I reach you at a bad time. Do this tactfully and you will stand out.
