dont be insulted. These days people are extremely busy at work. reviewing resumes/interviewing candidates can be a surprise appointment for many people. Maybe HR didn't even tell him until an hour prior to the interview. Maybe he had a major issue at work for the past 2 days that required all his time.
It's very common to be interviewed by someone that has not reviewed your resume. Sometimes they don't have a copy and ask your for a hard copy. You better have one ready and be polite about it. They might say "I just got asked to interview you 1 minute ago and have not seen your resume. Please tell me about yourself, and do you have a copy of your resume."
This is how it goes. Don't be insulted.
I used to get peeved when I could tell they didn't read it before our interview now I take as a chance to pitch myself with the 30 second spiel. If I left something off my resume here's a chance to make eye contact and close.
Yea, its not a government job. Its a small formerly family owned expanding company. When I called the HR guy to set it up, his voicemail stated HR department instead of his name. From what I was told, there are about 60 employees.
