I hear the commission only salespeople sleep in their cars in parking lots in little groups by "employer" along with all the other homeless in California.
Thanks for the laugh I need it! Guess I could take it and live in a van down by the river like Chris maybe they will through in some gubbermit cheez

Rep for you!

Frankly commission only sales jobs are great for employers they take no risk. Employees take all the risk. They take the wear and tear on their car, their cellphone, their fuel costs. And when most fail the employers take those leads from the fired employees prospecting and dish them to the golden salespeople. I have been on both sides of that table, as an employee, so I know how the game is played and the deck is stacked against commission only sales people.
My company has three people who are commission only who make over $1 million per year. They are good enough to do that. Are you good enough to do that? Commission only sales jobs are great for people who are actually good at their jobs, and are bad for people who are bad at what they do. Which are you?

What do they do because I know no one as I mentioned in another thread that has ever made over 200k in sales period?

Commission only sales possibly can work if you have a book of clients. And companies don't let you take that with you.

Before you ask me if I am good enough for that I am multi year president's club member.

Have you done comm. only sales hnsq? Or are you just talking about people that have?

Honestly the best for me is a low to mid base, with benefits, and a good comm. plan with accelerators. Detailed enough?

Incurring relocation costs to a far away city for no salary may suit someone already in that game, maybe in a related industry and successful at it. Other then that no. Like another poster said THEY incur no risk at all. The guy offering it is using a shotgun approach to get people for this reason . The op is going to ignore him cause its not his field or of benefit to him. To another poster on here-stop asking him why he does not believe in himself. He does, and this offer is not for his situation. Op is smart and has a different path.

I too have seen some pitiful offers coming from Florida. That's a big reason many have been leaving the state in droves. High property taxes are pushing folks to places like Alabama and low wages are pushing others up north. I've seen tons of Florida license plates up here in Illinois over the past 2 years.

All the while, I've seen tons of articles published claiming employers in Florida are experiencing alarming skill shortages... Nope, they chased them all away and refuse to offer anything to entice them back.

I don't blame you for refusing this offer, but it's really nothing remarkable to note. Employers in Florida are known for their low ball offers. Oh yea, and their favorite line... "We pay you in sunshine!" Yea, that'll get em And don't forget, there's no income tax on you're pitiful Florida income!

100% guarantee they didn't get those jobs after being hit up blind with an offer on LinkedIn.

If you are VERY good at sales and have connections or the company has a book of business already willing to give you. Without that, you wont last very long in a new area with that type of position.

If you're a good salesman, you would only take the job if you knew you could succeed. People don't waste their time with jobs that aren't promising.
