I think you're confused. This thread is about having to fill out an online app to be a dishwasher.

And I said nothing about that, as usual you put your own notions into what someone else has said. I said that employers do background checks. What they do with them is their own decision.

Maybe because there aren't any customer service and clerical jobs available and housekeeping/dishwashing jobs are the only jobs available?

Maybe because someone's wife or kid would like to find a simply side job to earn spending money?

Just because someone's applying for a dishwashing job doesn't mean they're an idiot, a criminal or don't know how to use a computer (just like someone who works in an office isn't necessarily very intelligent).
