How old is the OP? This is the type of ignorant comment I would expect from a very young person with no real life experience and no adults in their life who ever did anything more than the types of hourly jobs he claims to find for his unfortunate clients. Of course, if this is a troll...

Most people can't just pick up and move across the country, where u been?

YOU can't. That doesn't remotely translate to "most". Crossing a state line or two or three is less challenging for most than your venturing a few blocks of where you live.

This response just shows how very small your circle of friends, family, associates is. You seem to think that if someone has a job and owns a home they stay there forever, clinging tightly to it because that's as good as it gets.

So why is it groar that I fill out an application and hear nothing? I'm apply to anything I can find. Dishwashing, retail, anything. I will do anything. I have repeatedly debunked all conservatives and low-information critics who try to preach how easy it is if you just do things "this way".

71% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck so I doubt more than 50% of Americans (most) can move cross country at the drop of a hat. Of course one could argue there's a difference between barriers and impossibility.

Anyway, I don't really get what's surprising about a dishwasher position asking for an application. Any job can ask for an application if they want. To my knowledge, which might be incorrect, most call center jobs ask for applications also.

i never said it's easy. 8 months, hundreds of applications, over 30 interviews is not easy. but it's possible.

i offered to take a look at your resume and/or cover letter and give you feedback. i can't really know why employers aren't getting back to you if i don't know what you're sending them. even then, i may not be able to figure it out, but i think it's worth a shot.
