Well as some of you know, the previous job didn't work out, at least not for now, but I had another company fly me out for an interview last minute. I really felt it went well (but then again I always feel that way and am still unemployed) and really liked it. One of the interviewers was from my hometown and it turns out his mother knows my grandfather, which I didn't realize until after the interview was over.
The interview was on Wednesday and on Monday, I get an email from the interviewer telling me he also made the connection and thanking me for my thank you. Which could have been the end of the email. He then however asks me how my househunting was going. If it's relevant, he is not the only interviewer who responded thank you to my thank you. I sent the hiring manager some follow up information on me, and he also responded with a thank you to my thank you.
I think that the company is just full of really friendly people, but my husband swears its a positive sign. He says that no interviewer would start to engage in a conversation if they weren't at going to hire me because the interviewer would be afraid that it would make it awkward when I didn't get the job, or that I may email him and ask him why. I got burned with my last interview that I thought went so well, so I'm assuming the worst.
i think your husband is reading too much into things. the interviewer's just being friendly. it's not a BAD sign - it seems like he likes you, and that's never a bad thing. but it's not a surefire sign that they're going to hire you.

Agree, and the "house hunting" comment may have been to see how serious you are about moving.
I remember your last situation(I think you dodged a bullet by the way they treated you) and I hope this one works out, think positive but don't think it is a sure thing until they make the offer.
