I did say by email OR telephone.

As for the frequency, it depends on how busy the staffing company is, how broad or narrow your job search is, etc. For clerical and industrial positions, we recommended that people touch base with their staffing consultant daily (first thing in the morning), because we had a LOT of clerical and industrial positions AND applicants. For management/professional/skilled industrial/IT jobs touching base a couple of times a week was considered sufficient.

Like I said, the staffing company I worked for was extremely, extremely busy - and successful. It is by far the busiest and most productive staffing company in our area, and the office I worked in became #1 in the nation (in that large chain) and continues to hold that spot. So...lots and lots of applicants and lots and lots of positions.

Your office situation may be different, I don't know. But that's what worked best in our office.

Apparently for your office and the types of jobs and applicants you are dealing with - and that's OK if it works for you.

In the office I worked in, for ANY hourly clerical or industrial applicant, we strongly recommended daily - first thing in the morning - contact, by either phone or email.

Salaried/professional applicants - twice a week would be sufficient.

Also If someone sends a email late friday evening, it will be the first one received on Monday morning.
