What first caught my attention was the spelling errors.

So using that logic, people with no experience at all are doomed to a lifetime of unemployment?

Worst case scenario it's not legit and you move on. Best case it's a real job and you get it

Many employers actively search for personality over experience, particularly in customer-facing positions, as you can train skills (and it's easier to start with a blank slate), but you can't really change a personality.

This job isn't a scam, it's a role in a small business that likely has multiple duties that having the right personality creates a benefit for the employer. This person may end up discussing treatment options the dentist has recommended that will involve the customer paying out of pocket, along with dealing with insurance companies for payment, being the public face of the practice (or the first face/voice customers and prospective customers see), etc.

Some people just need to stop being so bitter and jaded - might actually be able to find work then.

Well I guess we will have to agree to disagree because any job on craigslist that is saying no experience is probably a joke.

craiglist applying tips

Only apply to postings that have a listed email address inside the ad with a company name

Only apply to postings that have a listed fax number or mailing address inside the ad

If you don't see any of that I would not recommend applying.

Yes, that's another thing I feel is a red flag.

Sounds like they want a sexy woman with a good personality to be the welcoming face of the business. It's in a wealthy area of Chicago.

Agreed. It's Lincoln Park, not Linclon Park. I've never visited Illinois, and even I know the correct spelling of this place!

Sometimes that's a red flag, typos/misspellings, that may reveal a closer look at such a job posting.
