The interviewers have not offered any excuse for their behavior and in some of the cases just stop talking to me altogether without any explanation.

I "blacklist" the recruiter once they have done that from my contacts.

The first few times I complained to their superiors but I have noticed that complaining gets me nowhere. I have ended up getting banned from the company by complaining about it more than once. I am professional and reasonable when I complain, but the end result is that the company wants nothing to do with me.

Any ideas what this could be about?
If these are headhunter recruiters, that's par for the course. It's a numbers game for many of them, and if they've filled the job, they've pretty much moved on.

Complaining will never make a difference. If anything, it'll just peeve them off.

I've been through this, although they usually got a hold of me to apologize and maybe reschedule.

If you're doing a phone interview, there are usually tons of candidates and they aren't located near the interviewer, so there's no connection between the interviewer/interviewee. Think of this person's job. They sit at a desk and call people all day until they find the right applicant and get them to agree to terms and sign on. This isn't easy when you can't see the person you're interviewing. They have to really focus and listen and take detailed notes both so they can find the right person and so they can rationalize the decision to their boss.

So, when they find the right candidate or they fill the interviews for the next round, they are relieved to have completed their job. They basically go on to scheduling and interviewing for another position they still need to fill. They don't have the time to call all the people whose interviews are no longer necessary.

I know it's cold, I've been through it. It's just the way it is. There is just no reason for them to take the time to call maybe 20 people at the end of a long shift and tell them disappointing news that most won't take without trying to persuade the interviewer to let them have another shot ("Come on my family needs this" or "Please, you won't regret this. I had the flu during the last interview....") It's just time that they don't have, and there are no negative repercussions for them not calling. So an applicant that didn't stand out to them is mad... why would they care?

Blacklist them and move on. You wouldn't want to work at a place where people are this inconsiderate.

Sometimes there is no other choice, the good places to work are seemingly harder to find.
