Apply out of your local area, if you haven't tried. There must be positions open somewhere. Flexibility is one key to finding a position.

assuming you're in a financial position to move (or do a long commute), that is.

Lots of companies finalize their budgets for next year in September and October. People are back from vacation. So look for things to pick up after Labor Day.

There will be another slowdown from Thanksgiving thru the New Year. If I needed someone to be onboard on Jan 2, I'd have hired him/her in October or November.

Interviewing/hiring for positions in education tend to take place in the spring, for start dates the following academic year (August).

I'm looking all over the US. I was hoping to stay locally when I first started looking, but I've relaxed my requirements.

I'm in the financial position to move anywhere in the US but there are no openings that I see a fit for.

If it helps, I'm looking for something in finance. I already check efinancialcareers, doostang, onewire, etc daily.

Yup, I'm on it and I apply to job ads through it. I also email HR recruiters directly and have gotten a couple of interviews from it but no offers. I really wanted this one job badly but got rejected after the second round. Anything else I should be doing on that website?
