Hell, no! Shows willingness to grab the opportunity. Anything beats a blank spot.

Everybody has been giving really good advice, so I'll just add my personal little preference: Stand up. You breathe better, and the reptilian part of your brain that can't understand why you're not fleeing or fighting in this stressful situation is calmed a little.

Good point posture is important on a phone interview. My voice commands more respect when I sit up straight than slouch in chair.
